Tele-Psychiatry, Therapy, and Counseling…

By telephone or webcam, in the convenience and privacy of home.

Insurance claims will be submitted for you, but because of the unique nature of telepsychiatry, payment is required at the time of service.  I prefer payment by credit card, but you may use Paypal, Google Checkout, or even a money order if sent prior to the appointment.  I may or may not be ‘in-network’; in either case insurance rarely covers the charges completely, and patients are responsible for those amounts as well as copays and deductibles.  Insurance payments to our office on your behalf will be promptly refunded to you.

I do not provide seven-minute ‘medication management’ sessions, a form of treatment favored by insurers that  encourages seeing patients by volume, and that does not allow an adequate understanding of a patient’s issues and concerns.  I encourage people to avoid that type of psychiatric treatment and to instead find a psychiatrist who values a deeper understanding of your concerns.
